Eco Friends
Eco Friends is working towards social awareness and practical measures regarding waste management initiatives. It flagship projects have been centred around the Thather and Malkhokhi Village communities near Bedian Road, Lahore, where about 10 tonnes of garbage has been lifted, and fun awareness activities have been held to promote sustainability. As President, Taha has worked on bringing this various projects into fruition.
Our Lost Nature - Stories from Yasin Valley
The North is in trouble. Situated in the topmost corner of the country, Yasin Valley of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan has been the epicentre of various glacial lake outburst floods (GLOFs) that have displaced thousands. And what often gets ignored as the government makes peace-meal contributions to support the people is the trauma they experience after witnessing their homes get swept away by the water. Taha's team ventured on this journey to uncover these stories, and hear from the people themselves what should be done to look after their needs. They explored their daily lives, their past, and how climate change is threatening their valuable agricultural produce, amidst the wider disconnect they feel from the nature their ancestors used to worship. These are the stories from Yasin Valley.
Yasin Valley AgroTourism and Education Development
Taha is passionate about developing communities. One of his premiere projects has been AgroTourism and Education Development in Yasin. He held computer science (CS) workshops under the Seekho and HILM organisations' banner to spread passion and awareness over the field and the unique ways it can be used to solve the world's problems. Taha has also developed a website for Yasin Valley, where the region is promoted through its culture, as well as herbal and agricultural products.
