Redefining the fight against climate change in Pakistan

Combating climate change has been a personal issue for Taha. Having experienced its effects head-first after moving back to Pakistan, he sought to make my contribution to organisations coming up with solutions to this potent issue. Ahya gave him the perfect opportunity to pursue this obsession. At Ahya, Taha worked on collecting data to train their machine learning models designed to take carbon emissions into account to suggest reductions measures, as well as to produce standardised reports to enable more stream-lined carbon emissions reporting in Pakistan. Understanding models like Word2Vec and TensorFlow, Taha explored unique ways of collating data for and curating these data sets.

Utilising his skills in media and publications, he also produced a blog post on how different machine learning techniques can be used to enhance carbon emissions sources data collation, to determine emission levels and reduction techniques. The report is formatted for clarity and visual appeal, and explains the applications of the different machine learning models in an easy-to-understand way.
